This is how Authentics Day unfolded
The 10 teams in the tournament have really enjoyed today’s Authentics Day
Once again, it’s been a day full of celebration, sport, excitement, and unforgettable moments — not just for the players, but also for their families and all those who gathered at Anoeta’s Mini Stadium.
The final had a clear Catalan touch, as it was played between Set11 and the debut team CD Torre Baró. Making it to the final was the icing on the cake for this team from the Barcelona neighborhood of Torre Baró. Born as a social project to create new opportunities for local youth with functional diversity, they were proud to be part of the Donosti Cup:
"Being in a tournament like this keeps our dream alive," said their coach with emotion.
The fan award was hard to decide. Local teams showed up strong with chants and flags, but Los Gladiadores Especiales, who came from afar, stood out with their energy and passion. This wasn’t their first time: they’ve joined the tournament five times already and have never missed a single edition.
"It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. We’re so thankful to the tournament for how it promotes inclusion through sport," said Obed Aguilar, their coach.
Tournament director Iñigo Olaizola handed out the trophies to each team, thanking them for their dedication and spirit:
"It’s a joy to welcome teams like these, full of energy, values, and love for the game."
See you next year at the 6th edition of the Authentics Cup!
