The Donosti Cup has announced the winners of the second edition of the Donosti Cup Munduan Scholarships, a recognition that rewards projects using football as a tool for social and educational change. This edition received around twenty applications from 12 countries, featuring truly transformative initiatives.

In the boys’ category, the winning project is Live Active Academia, which prevailed over the proposals from Team Up in Uganda and Deporvida in Paraguay. Founded in 2019 in the Nova Vida neighborhood of Luanda, Live Active will become the first Angolan organization ever to participate in the tournament. The project combines football training with education and community development, working closely with schools, orphanages, and local NGOs. Today, the academy hosts nearly 200 young people between the ages of seven and seventeen, many of them in socially vulnerable situations, providing a safe environment where they receive education and social support while developing key values such as discipline, effort, and teamwork.

In the girls’ category, the winner is the Beyond the Goal Foundation from Kenya, which stood out over Sports for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Huntington Beach Breakers. Based in Nairobi, the foundation works in the Baba Dogo slum, offering girls and young women development opportunities through football, education, and mentorship. Its program Empowering Girls through Football combines girls-only training sessions, leadership and self-defense programs, full educational scholarships, and community and environmental activities. Thanks to this initiative, twelve girls receive secondary school scholarships and more than seventy participate weekly in sports training, while the foundation promotes values of equality, inclusion, and personal empowerment.

The second edition of the Donosti Cup Munduan Scholarships reaffirms, once again, the tournament’s commitment to supporting youth development through sport, demonstrating how the combination of football, education, and mentorship can generate global social impact and offer unique opportunities to those who need them most.
