Donosti Cup 2027 surpasses 300 registered teams in October
The tournament has already attracted more than 300 teams from 18 countries for its 35th edition, which will take place from 5 to 11 July 2027.
Donosti Cup 2027 has already surpassed 300 registered teams, with just over a month having passed since registration opened. This figure confirms the interest surrounding the upcoming edition of the tournament, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary from 5 to 11 July 2027 in San Sebastián and other municipalities across Gipuzkoa.
The registrations received so far represent almost half of the teams that typically participate from outside Gipuzkoa. Registration for clubs from the province will open in April, when around 350 teams usually register within just a few days.
In terms of the participants’ countries of origin, the United States leads international registrations with nearly 100 teams, followed by France with 20 and Australia with around 10. Mexico, with seven teams, and Brazil, with six, complete the list of countries with the largest representation at this early stage. Teams from Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Chile, China, Japan, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Sweden and Switzerland have also registered. In total, the list includes teams from 18 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
Spain, meanwhile, accounts for 160 registered teams, a figure that already exceeds half of the 220 Spanish teams that took part in the 2026 edition. Registrations from clubs in Gipuzkoa will be added in April, with local teams accounting for a significant share of the tournament’s total participation each year.
The organisers are working on a special edition to mark Donosti Cup’s 35th anniversary, aiming to bring together hundreds of teams from around the world for a week of competition, camaraderie and cultural exchange through football.
