For every goal scored by a female player in the Donosti Cup, Alfa Laval will donate €1 to the Ethiopian charity Hold My Hand

From Gipuzkoa to Ethiopia: every girl’s goal is more than just a point on the scoreboard

4 de July de 2025

Alfa Laval returns as an official partner of the tournament, reaffirming its commitment to women’s sports as a channel for sustainable development and social equity. Through this initiative, every goal scored in Gipuzkoa becomes a real opportunity to improve lives in Ethiopia.

Hold My Hand was the team selected by the Donosti Cup Munduan jury. Although they couldn’t attend the tournament in Donostia, they will still be part of this edition thanks to Alfa Laval’s initiative. Hold My Hand is an organization that provides comprehensive support to vulnerable children, many of whom live on the streets or come from disadvantaged families. It offers shelter, education, nutrition, life skills, and emotional support.

Hold My Hand uses football as an educational and social integration tool, while also promoting values such as discipline, teamwork, and leadership. Thanks to its programs, the number of children living on the streets has significantly decreased, and school attendance among its beneficiaries has increased by 30%.

Alfa Laval strengthens its commitment to women’s football with actions that go beyond the pitch, such as the Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper awards introduced in the previous edition, equality armbands given to team captains, and a dedicated women’s football section on its social media.
