The groups for the Donosti Cup 2025 are now available!
The 900 participating teams have been drawn into their respective groups after yesterday’s official draw.
Following yesterday’s draw, we’re excited to announce that the groups for the Donosti Cup 2025 are now available on our website.
The draw was organized into three pots: the first for international teams, the second for national teams, and the third for local teams. Each group is made up of 4 or 5 teams, and most of them include at least one international team. In categories such as B19, B16, G19, and G16, teams from schools or educational centers have been grouped together during the initial phase to ensure fairer competition.
One of the main new features this year is in the B10 and G10 categories. Initially, only teams from Gipuzkoa were allowed to participate, but a recent decision has authorized the inclusion of both national and international teams. Since this resolution came after registrations had almost closed, only a few non-Gipuzkoan teams will be able to participate this year in these categories. Still, this opens the door to greater international diversity in future editions, including the B9 category.
During the group stage, each team will play a minimum of 3 or 4 matches, depending on the number of teams in the group, or even 5 in larger groups. At the end of this stage, the top two teams will qualify for Playoff A (Champions League), while the third and fourth will advance to Playoff B (Europa League).
In the coming days, we will begin preparing the match schedule for the group stage, which we aim to publish next week. With less than a month to go until the start of the Donosti Cup 2025, it’s time to get ready!
