Celebrating 5 years of the Donosti Authentics Cup

The inclusive tournament marks its fifth edition with 240 players from around the world

30 de June de 2025

2021 was a year full of hope with the launch of the Donosti Authentics Cup—a strong commitment by the organization to provide space and visibility for teams made up of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Five years later, the tournament is celebrating its fifth edition, now firmly established as a benchmark in the world of inclusive football.

From July 7th to 9th, the Miniestadio of Anoeta will host this special event, bringing together 240 players from 10 different teams. The competition will kick off on Monday, July 8th with the first round of matches, and continue on Tuesday, July 9th with the second round, the finals, and the awards ceremony for all participants.

That same day, the Authentic Day will also be held at the Miniestadio—a grand celebration marking the end of the tournament with snacks, music, surprises, and a joyful atmosphere of togetherness.

This special edition will welcome two debut teams: AC Boulogne-Billancourt (France) and CD Torre Baró (Catalonia). They’ll join returning teams such as Real Sociedad, Gipuzkoako Selekzioa, Atzegi, Gaude, Set11 (Catalonia), and Olagarroak (France). Also returning are the Gladiadores from Mexico, who left an unforgettable mark in past editions.

To mark the fifth anniversary, a photo exhibition highlighting some of the tournament’s most memorable moments will be inaugurated. The exhibition will be open throughout the week at the Donosti Cup Topagunea in Boulevard.

Organized in collaboration with Orona Fundazioa, the tournament has always championed the normalization of football among individuals with intellectual disabilities, while promoting values such as equality, inclusion, and respect.

On its fifth anniversary, the Donosti Authentics Cup reaffirms its international spirit and its commitment to a type of football that breaks down barriers, transforms lives, and helps build a fairer society. Once again, sport will be the common language uniting players from different backgrounds and experiences. Because in Donostia, during the tournament, what truly matters is the desire to share, enjoy, and celebrate all that football has to offer.
