Donosti Cup 2026 introduces the Match MVP award
Each match will recognize its standout player, and all Match MVPs will be available on the official results website and app.
Donosti Cup 2026 will introduce a new individual distinction: the Match MVP award. Presented at the end of every match, this recognition aims to highlight players' performance, attitude, and overall contribution throughout the game.
The Match MVP will be selected by the tournament staff and awarded in the form of a certificate to the most outstanding player in each match. Exceptionally, the staff may decide not to present the award if they consider that all participants performed at a very similar level or if the circumstances of the match make it appropriate.
As a new feature, every Match MVP will be published on both the official Donosti Cup results website and mobile app, allowing players, families, and teams to follow these recognitions throughout the tournament.
This new award joins the competition's existing honors, including the MVP of each category, the Top Scorer (boys and girls), the Golden Glove (boys and girls), and the Fair Play Award, further expanding a recognition system that values both sporting performance and the core values of youth football.
Beyond the final score, the Match MVP award aims to recognize actions, attitudes, and performances that help make every match a positive experience for all participants. It is not only about rewarding talent, but also commitment, effort, and sportsmanship.
With this initiative, Donosti Cup continues to strengthen its commitment to an educational and values-based competition, where individual recognition goes hand in hand with respect, teamwork, and the principles that define youth football.
