With just one month to go until the Donosti Cup 2025 kicks off, one of the most awaited moments for all participating teams is now set. On Tuesday, June 10th at 12:00h, the groups for the first phase will be announced, and they will be available for consultation on the official tournament website.

The draw will be organized into three pots: the first will include international teams, the second will feature national teams, and the third will have local teams. Each group will consist of 4 or 5 teams, with at least one foreign team guaranteed in most groups. In the B19, B16, G19, and G16 categories, educational center teams will be grouped together in the initial phase.

One of this year’s novelties comes in the B10 and G10 categories. Although initially only teams from Gipuzkoa were allowed to participate, a recent resolution has authorized the participation of both national and foreign teams. Since this authorization was received with registrations almost closed, only a few teams from outside Gipuzkoa will be able to participate in these two categories. Nevertheless, the most important thing is that, for future editions, we will be able to count on a greater diversity of origins in these categories as well as in B9, further enriching the tournament, whose main appeal lies in that very diversity.

During the group phase, each team will play a minimum of 3 or 4 matches, depending on the number of teams per group, and even 5 in larger groups. At the end of this phase, the top two teams from each group will move on to the Playoff A (Champions League), while the third and fourth place teams will move on to Playoff B (Europa League).

The full match schedule, including both the group phase and the final phase, will be available in the coming weeks on the results website and also on the official tournament app.

The countdown to meet your rivals begins!
