Donosti Cup launches the second call for “Donosti Cup Munduan” Grants
Non-profit organizations can now submit their projects until November 1st to participate with both boys’ and girls’ teams in Donosti Cup 2026.
Donosti Cup opens the second edition of the “Donosti Cup Munduan” Grants, a program that allows teams without resources from around the world to experience the International Youth Football Tournament held every summer in San Sebastián.
For over 30 years, Donosti Cup has supported more than 50 teams from countries such as Sierra Leone, Zambia, Ethiopia, Mozambique, India, Nepal, Palestine, Ukraine, El Salvador, and Bolivia, giving young players the chance to share the pitch with peers from different cultures and nationalities. This work has been recognized with awards such as the UNICEF National Award and the Iberdrola SuperA Award.
To extend this support to new projects, the “Donosti Cup Munduan” Grants were created in 2024, aimed at organizations using football as a tool for social transformation and improving young people’s quality of life. Each year, two projects will be selected—one boys’ team and one girls’ team—whose participation in the tournament will be fully funded, with an approximate annual budget of 60,000 euros.
In the first edition, the scholarship winners were Hold My Hand Charity (Ethiopia), which works with vulnerable children using football to promote education and social integration, and Future Stars Academy (Tanzania), which combines football, education, and leadership programs, promoting gender equity and the inclusion of children with disabilities.
Applications for the 2026 edition can be submitted from September 15 to November 1. So far, four applications have already been received.
Interested organizations can download the rules on the Donosti Cup website and complete a registration form, attaching a brief project description.
