Donosti Cup 2026 reaches 250 teams in just six weeks
Benjamín categories B9, B10, and G10 return with high demand after their absence in 2025
Just six weeks after the registration period opened, the Donosti Cup 2026 already counts 250 teams registered, reflecting the strong interest in this edition, which will be held from July 6 to 12, 2026. Registration for teams from Gipuzkoa will open in April, when around 300 teams usually sign up, meaning that more than 60% of the tournament spots are already filled.
Regarding the origin of registered teams, 35% come from abroad, while the remaining 65% are from Spain, a significant increase compared to the same period last year. For context, in 2025, 275 Spanish teams participated, while in just six weeks of 2026, 150 teams have already registered.
Among international teams, the countries with the highest representation are the United States (75 teams), France (20 teams), and Japan (10 teams). Notably, Mongolia will debut in the tournament, while Iceland returns after an eight-year absence.
The Donosti Cup maintains its strong commitment to women’s football, with over 50 teams already registered and four of the five categories exceeding 10 teams. In the boys’ categories, five categories have more than 20 teams, with B12 being the most in demand, at 30 teams. The B9, B10, and G10 categories, returning after teams from outside Gipuzkoa could not participate in 2025, are receiving a high number of applications.
Registrations remain open for all interested teams, who can request information via phone, email, or WhatsApp.
