The Donosti Cup 2025 finals move to Stadium Gal
The stadium of Real Unión Club will host this year’s F11 finals of the Donosti Cup, as the pitch at the Reale Arena will not have time to recover after the three concerts scheduled for June. The F8 finals will remain at the Anoeta Mini Stadium.
The Donosti Cup finals are without a doubt one of the most eagerly awaited moments for all participating teams. Traditionally, these finals have been held at the Reale Arena, home of Real Sociedad. However, this year they will take place at Stadium Gal, the stadium of Real Unión Club in Irun. The reason for this change is that three major concerts will take place in June at the Reale Arena (one by Fermín Muguruza and two by Bruce Springsteen), leaving no time to restore the pitch in suitable conditions.
The tournament organizers have been working in recent months with Real Sociedad and the City Council of San Sebastián to find a way to restore the pitch in the short window between the disassembly of Bruce Springsteen’s second concert (June 24) and the Donosti Cup finals weekend (July 12 and 13). Since there is no guarantee that the pitch will be in optimal condition for football, the Organization has chosen Stadium Gal to host this year’s F11 finals.
Stadium Gal, home of Real Unión Club (currently playing in the 1ª RFEF), has a natural grass surface and capacity for 4,000 spectators. Its stands were recently renovated, and the venue is now preparing to host the Donosti Cup finals, which this year will bring together more than 900 teams from 30 different countries.
We know many participants will miss playing at the Reale Arena, but we are confident that the excitement and spirit of the finals will be just as intense in this new setting.
The F8 finals will remain at the Anoeta Mini Stadium, as in previous editions. This comfortable venue is located next to the Reale Arena and the tournament’s Fan Zone, with spacious stands and an excellent location.
The Donosti Cup would like to thank Real Unión Club for welcoming us to their stadium to host the tournament finals, which will be the perfect grand finale to the 33rd edition of the Donosti Cup.
