Last week to apply for the “Donosti Cup Munduan” Grants
Projects from Costa Rica, Uruguay, the United States, Kenya, Uganda, Palestine, and Spain have already submitted their applications.
The Donosti Cup is entering the final stretch of the application period for the second edition of the “Donosti Cup Munduan” Grants, a program that gives underprivileged teams from around the world the opportunity to experience the International Youth Football Tournament held every summer in San Sebastián.
The application deadline is November 1, making this the last week to apply. So far, the organization has received around ten applications from Costa Rica, Uruguay, the United States, Kenya, Uganda, Palestine, and Spain.
These grants are aimed at organizations that use football as a tool for social transformation, promoting education, equality, and inclusion through sport. Each year, two projects — one male and one female — are selected, whose teams will take part in the Donosti Cup with all expenses covered by the Donosti Cup Foundation.
For over 30 years, the Donosti Cup has supported more than 50 teams from Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America, giving thousands of young people the opportunity to share the field with players from different cultures and nationalities. This work has been recognized with honors such as the UNICEF National Award and the Iberdrola SuperA Award.
In the first edition of the grants, the selected projects were Hold My Hand Charity (Ethiopia), which works with vulnerable children using football as a means of education and social integration, and Future Stars Academy (Tanzania), which combines sport, education, and leadership to promote gender equality and the inclusion of children with disabilities.
Interested organizations can consult the guidelines and complete the application form on the official Donosti Cup website, attaching a detailed project proposal.
