Stadium Gal to host the Donosti Cup finals once again
The historic home of Real Unión will once again stage the Football 11 finals, while the Football 8 finals will be played at the Anoeta Mini Stadium
The Football 11 finals of the Donosti Cup will once again be held this year at Stadium Gal in Irun, one of the most iconic football grounds in Spain and home of Real Unión, one of the founding clubs of the Spanish League.
Stadium Gal, considered a historic venue within Spanish football, already hosted these finals last year under similar circumstances. On that occasion, Anoeta Stadium could not be used due to two concerts held in June, which prevented the pitch from recovering properly. This year, the move is due to the expansion works currently being carried out at the Real Sociedad stadium during the summer. T
he atmosphere experienced last year in Irun was truly special, with a fantastic football environment both in the stands and on the pitch. The organisation hopes to recreate that same feeling in a venue that also offers convenient access and parking thanks to its proximity to the Ficoba exhibition centre, making travel easier for teams, families and supporters.
Meanwhile, the Football 8 finals will be played at the recently renovated Anoeta Mini Stadium, located next to the main stadium. Following the recent refurbishment works and the installation of new grass, the venue is expected to be in excellent condition for the tournament.
The schedule for all finals can be found in the Activities Programme section of the official Donosti Cup website.
