The Donosti Cup surpasses 500 registered teams
The international tournament, which will take place from July 6 to 12 in San Sebastián, will bring together clubs from all five continents.
The Donosti Cup continues to break records and has already reached 500 registered teams, even though there are still months to go before the tournament begins. As every year, this figure will be joined by around 300 teams from Gipuzkoa, which usually register when the registration period for local teams opens in April.
The event, to be held from July 6 to 12 in San Sebastián, will once again feature a diverse and global participation. To date, teams from 24 countries across all five continents have already confirmed their attendance, consolidating the Donosti Cup as one of the most international grassroots football tournaments in the world. In fact, 40% of the registered teams are from abroad.
By country, the United States leads the rankings with 95 registered teams, followed by France, which once again stands out as one of the main international participants, and Japan, which ranks third. In addition, clubs from Angola, Australia, Canada, Chile, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Iceland, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Portugal, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay have confirmed their participation, further reinforcing the tournament’s multicultural and inclusive character.
At the national level, Spain already has 300 registered teams, with strong representation from Catalonia and the Community of Madrid, as well as clubs from other autonomous communities such as the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, Murcia, and Navarre. In April, the registration period will open for teams from the Basque Country, which traditionally never miss their appointment with the Donosti Cup.
With only a few spots still available, now is the ideal time for new teams to join an edition that promises to be unforgettable, both for its sporting level and for its international and friendly atmosphere.
