The 2026 Gaza Donosti Cup comes to a Successful Close!
The FIFA Academy was crowned champion of the 2026 Gaza Donosti Cup after defeating the Al-Mohtarifeen Academy 3-1 in the final.
Soccer has once again become a gathering place for the youth of Gaza with the Gaza Donosti Cup, a tournament that brought together 120 players divided into 12 teams and was created with a clear social mission: to offer young people a space for fellowship, normalcy, and hope through sports.
After a week of competition, the grand final pitted the FIFA Academy against the Al-Mohtarifeen Academy in a match where, above all else, fair play took center stage.
The FIFA Academy prevailed 3-1, claiming the championship title in this inaugural edition. The Al-Mohtarifeen Academy had a brilliant tournament and was recognized for the high level of play it demonstrated.
In an atmosphere filled with excitement, the tournament concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the champions and recognizing the 12 participating academies.
The champion team, the FIFA Academy, will be invited to participate in the 35th anniversary of the Donosti Cup, to be held July 5–11 in San Sebastián, Spain, representing Gaza.
The 2026 Gaza Donosti Cup has come to an end, but a new dream is beginning for the young people of Gaza who, thanks to soccer, are once again looking to the future with hope.
We at the Donosti Cup would like to congratulate the FIFA Academy on becoming the first champion of this tournament, and we would also like to thank Champions Club—and especially Rajab Al Sarraj—for their hard work.
