New participation record with 912 teams!

Donosti Cup 2026 has officially closed registrations with a new participation record: 912 teams from 31 countries will take part in the tournament’s 34th edition, further consolidating its position as the largest international youth football tournament in Southern Europe.

In total, more than 15,000 participants, including players and coaches, will gather in San Sebastián this summer.

This year, eight countries will make their debut at the tournament: Angola, Hong Kong, Latvia, Mongolia, Malaysia, Poland, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. Their participation brings the total number of countries represented in Donosti Cup history to 94 since the first edition was held. The other countries represented in 2026 will be Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Honduras, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Palestine, the Philippines, Portugal, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States and Venezuela.

From Spain, teams from 12 autonomous communities will participate, with the Basque Country, Catalonia and Madrid being the most represented regions. The remaining participating regions are Andalusia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, the Canary Islands, the Valencian Community, Murcia and Navarre.

By category, the most popular was Boys U12 (B12) with 112 teams, followed by Boys U13 (B13) with 108 teams and Boys U11 (B11) with 88 teams. In the girls’ competition, Girls U16 (G16) attracted the highest number of entries with 52 teams, followed by Girls U14 (G14) with 49 teams and Girls U12 (G12) with 40 teams.

The Donosti Authentics Cup, the tournament’s inclusive competition, celebrates its sixth edition this year and will feature eight teams from France, Catalonia and the Basque Country.
