ZONE 1 - Bidasoaldea:

Bidasoaldea, the first zone of the Donosti Cup, is located on the border with France and captivates visitors with its natural beauty and rich history. Here, you can enjoy a stunning mountainous environment, dotted with green meadows and lush forests. The area boasts several charming municipalities, such as Irún, the largest municipality in the area, Hondarribia, with its old town of cobbled streets, colourful houses and traditional Basque architecture that will transport you back in time, Bera and Lesaka, two charming villages, perfect for a quiet getaway and Hendaye, on the French side, with beautiful beaches and stunning coastal scenery.

  • Amaiur Castle in Bera: This impressive medieval castle offers panoramic views of the area and has a rich history for you to explore.
  • Hondarribia Old Town: Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of this charming old town, admire the colourful houses and enjoy the traditional Basque architecture.
  • Hendaye Promenade: Strolling along the promenade and breathing the fresh ocean air will be an unforgettable experience.

ZONE 2 - Donostialdea:

The Donostialdea area is the heart of the Donosti Cup, as it is home to the city of San Sebastian (Donostia in Basque). This area perfectly combines the charm of a coastal city with the natural beauty of its surroundings. San Sebastian, known for its elegance and sophistication, is famous for its stunning La Concha beach. With its long stretch of golden sand and crystal clear waters, it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. You can also enjoy a picturesque promenade and sample the delicious Basque gastronomy in the many bars and restaurants of the Parte Vieja (Old Town). Not far from the city, you will find charming towns such as Errenteria, Hernani, Lasarte-Oria, Oiartzun, Pasai and Urnieta. These towns offer a combination of tradition, history and natural beauty. From the spectacular panoramic views of Mount Urgull and the Castillo de la Mota to the tranquillity of the Paseo del Faro de la Plata in Pasai Donibane, there is much to explore and enjoy in this vibrant area.

Kosta, the third zone of LA Donosti Cup, is a paradise for lovers of the coast and beaches. Situated along the Cantabrian Sea, this region offers a variety of breathtaking coastal destinations.
You can immerse yourself in the spirituality and history of natural settings in Azpeitia or Zestoa, or enjoy an authentic coastal experience in Orio and Zarautz, with golden sandy beaches, fishing ports and fresh seafood flavours.

  • Sanctuary of Loyola: In Azpeitia, visit this important pilgrimage site where Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, was born. Explore the basilica and the beautiful surrounding gardens.

ZONE 4 - Tolosaldea:

Tolosaldea, the fourth zone of Donosti Cup, invites you to immerse yourself in its history, culture and nature. With its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful landscapes, this region is perfect for lovers of tranquillity and authentic experiences. The municipality of Tolosa is the main point of interest in the area, with its picturesque old town and its famous weekly market, where you can enjoy fresh local produce and traditional crafts. Alegia, Ordizia, Villabona and Zizurkil are other municipalities in Tolosaldea that offer charm and natural beauty, a unique experience in touch with Basque authenticity.

The five must-sees:

  • The Tolosa market. It has been held every Saturday for centuries, and is one of the best known in the Basque Country.
  • Aralar Nature Reserve: Embark on a natural adventure and hike through the stunning Aralar Natural Park, where you will find beautiful scenery and panoramic views.

ZONE 5 - Barnealdea:

The last zone of the Donosti Cup, Barnealdea, will surprise you with its combination of industrial history and natural beauty. Here you will find municipalities with a rich cultural heritage and captivating landscapes. Arrasate, Beasain and Bergara are perfect places to stroll and enjoy traditional Basque architecture. Elgoibar, Eibar, Idiazabal, Lazkao, Legazpi and Zumarraga complete the list of municipalities in Barnealdea. Each of them has its own attraction, whether it is the famous Idiazabal cheese factory, the Iron Museum in Legazpi or the natural landscapes of Lazkao and Zumarraga.

The five must-sees:

  • Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption in Arrasate: Visit this impressive basilica in Arrasate and admire its Gothic architecture. You can also explore the old town and enjoy the local gastronomy.
