PLAY, RESPECT, CELEBRATE
Welcome to the PLAY, RESPECT, CELEBRATE program, dedicated to preventing incidents on football fields by raising awareness among players, coaches, and families. Our main goal is to promote essential values such as fair play, respect for opponents and referees, and positive sporting behavior.
Code of conduct
- Respect players, coaches, referees, fans, and organizers all the time.
- Promote fair play and sportsmanship.
- Avoid aggressive or derogatory behavior.
- Respect referees' decisions.
- Treat everyone equally.
- Take care of the facilities, and leave everything as you found it.
- Respect the environment and keep the surroundings clean.
- Follow the rules and cooperate with the organization.
- Promote fair play and behave in an exemplary manner.
- Recognize and celebrate sportsmanship.
Evaluation system
The Field Delegates will evaluate players, coaches, and fans with a grade from 1 to 5 (1. Violent, 2. Unsportsmanlike, 3. Could be improved, 4. Sportsmanlike, 5. Very sportsmanlike). The team rating for each match will be an average of the three ratings (players, coaches, and fans) and the final team rating will be an average of the ratings obtained in all matches played.
Fair Play Ranking
Based on the scores obtained, an overall Fair Play ranking is established. This ranking remains an official part of the tournament for the third consecutive year. The three best teams in the ranking will receive the Fair Play Award as recognition of their sporting behaviour throughout the tournament.
In addition, Rural Kutxa will allocate a €2,000 prize to the top-ranked Gipuzkoan team in the fair play ranking. This amount must be donated to a charitable cause chosen by the team itself.
Intervention
The sanctions for violation of the Code of Conduct may vary depending on the gravity of the fault:
- Verbal warning: Verbal warning by the tournament organizers to the offender to correct his behavior.
- Temporary expulsion from the tournament: Expulsion of the offender from one or more matches, banning entry to the field during this time.
- Expulsion from the tournament: In serious cases, the organizers reserve the right to expel the offender from the Tournament, to preserve the sporting and respectful environment for the other participants.
