The first 50 girls’ teams are already registered in the Donosti Cup

Everything points out to the fact that in the 2019 Donosti Cup, girls’ football will once again have a special role. On the one hand, it is expected to overcome the barrier of 100 teams for the fifth consecutive year, and on the other hand, to have again national and international top-level teams.

So far, 51 teams from Spain, France, United States, Canada, Palestine and El Salvador have confirmed their participation, and as we have many interested teams, more entries are expected soon.

By countries, Spain will have the largest representation of girls’ teams with 25 at this moment and we will also have again the participation of top-level clubs such as Madrid CFF, Sant Gabriel or Futfem Talent.

It is followed by the United States with 16 girls’ teams, where we again find veteran clubs such as Wisconsin International, NW United or PacNW among others, and a large number of new teams that will discover the tournament for the first time such as: Sharks, Eagles, Breakers LA or Santa Monica.

After the United States we find France with 5 teams at the moment. Note the participation of Olympique Lyon who participated last year in the tournament for the first time in the G14 category and were runners-up in the final. This year, they will try again with their two teams G14 and G12.

We will also have representation from Canada, with 3 teams from the Oak Ridges, CNS Fiore and Wave VI clubs.

And the last two countries that will have female representation for the moment will be El Salvador with College Cup team and Palestine with Not to Forget Jenyn Camp.

Remind you, that the Donosti Cup has 4 girls’ categories: U18, U16, U14 and U12. The first three are played under 11 a-side football and the last one under 8 a-side football. The matches are played in natural grass and artificial turf fields. In each match the calls are of 20 players in 11 a-side football and 16 in 8 a-side football.

Finally, we want to outline that the Spanish National Team that has been proclaimed U17 World Champion has in its ranks 3 players of the Donosti Cup, which is a pride for the tournament.
